Rats usually occur where they find sufficient food, shelter and nesting opportunities. They transmit dangerous diseases. Droppings and urine cause odor nuisance and health hazard.

If you want to report rats, it is important to note the following:

• Property owners must hire a pest control/ exterminator themselves.
• Tenants must first ask the property owner to remove the problem. (If the landlord refuses to do so, the tenant may contact the appropriate regulatory agency. In this case, a copy of the tenant's written request must be available).
• If the culprit is demonstrably a third party, please contact the public order office in writing.
• If rats are found in public places, contact the responsible public order office.
